A "TYPICAL" SERVICE

Most of our services contain religious music, a chalice lighting, a "story for all ages", announcements, prayers or meditations, a time to share joys and concerns, readings, an offertory, and a theme related talk.

On Sundays that an intergenerational service is not planned children usually remain in the service for the first 15 minutes for a gathering song, the chalice lighting, and the "story for all ages". Then they are sung out of the sanctuary on their way to childcare.

The type of music featured can vary widely from one service to the next. Everything from Christian hymns to Pagan chants to rock songs might be included in any service, if they relates to the theme of the service.

Themes range from current events to theological concepts, to reflections on the seasons, and might be presented by a lay leader, a guest speaker, or a visiting minister.

The service ends with our closing circle and song:
            "From you I receive.
             To you I give.
             Together we share.
             And from this we live."

Following the service there is time for refreshments and conversation.

We put the word "typical" in quotes because although many of our services follow this format others do not. In fact, you can never be sure exactly what to expect on a Sunday morning. If you visit for the first time and that particular service does not move you, please come at least two more times to get a more complete picture of our Fellowship. We are sure that we will grow on you.
