"The great end in religious instruction
is not to stamp our minds upon the young,
but to stir up their own;"

Children's Religious Exploration

Family Worship will be held at 12:15 PM. at Temple Sukkat Shalom
at the corner of Cordova St. & Foster Ave.
across the Douglas Bridge from downtown Juneau
beginning September 20th

Family Worship is a time for children and adults (including brave adults without children) to experience spirituality and religion in a more interactive way.  These gatherings involve more singing, stories, and child-friendly activities, and less of the more traditional, formal rituals contained in the 10:30 worship service.

The flow of events for Family Worship is adapted to the needs and desires of those attending.  This is not to say that it is spur of the moment, but more that it is organic, developing, and changing across the weeks.  Content may focus on such topics as holidays, exploring our Seven Principles, or doing good through peace and justice works.  We promise: it will be OK to NOT stay in your seat for the whole 45 minutes!  And if you like what you see and want to suggest topics or activities, please do!

Children are an integral part of our congregation. If the 12:15 time does not meet your needs children usually remain in the 10:30 AM service for the first 15 minutes for a gathering song, the chalice lighting, and the "story for all ages". Then they are sung out of the sanctuary on their way to childcare.
