The PNWD 2012 District Assembly will be May 18–20, 2012 in Anchorage, AK
For information on the conference: Carry The Flame
Stone Soup May 20th
This is a special after-service gathering to celebrate the story of Stone Soup. Sue will supply a vegetarian soup base and a meaty soup base, plus the stones. If you bring one ingredient, you can help make the soup better. Due to our short cooking time, if you bring veggies, please cook them ahead of time. If you bring pasta, make sure it is gluten free.
Glory Hole Dinner
JUUF is cooking at the Glory Hole on Wednesday, May 30th. Please contact Annette if you will be able to assist.
JUUF Family Campout
Save These Dates:
June 8-10, 2012
In the 'backpacker's loop' of the Mendenhall Lake Campground, near the peaceful glacier, lake and river, is the place to be on the June 8th-10th weekend… where you are encouraged to be and let be… where you are included in the Family, not despite of who you are, but because of who you are… a place where it is safe for kids to be kids. As the weekend after the flower communion, we'll look forward to one last time together before we disperse for 'summer break'. We'll be singing, playing music, roasting marshmallows around a campfire, sharing meals, talking, playing games, exploring nature. Once we’ve been to a JUUF Family Campout, we’ll wonder what we did without it. All are welcome.
If you are interested in attending, please contact Bonnie with the following info:
1) number camping
2) what gear you need to borrow (tent, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, etc.)
3) what gear you can loan or share (the same as above, plus communal cooking gear, communal tarps, wood, etc.)
Day visitors (non-campers) are also welcome - contact Bonnie to be included in meal and activity plans.
WhaleCoast Alaska
WhaleCoast Alaska is scheduled for Juneau for July 9-12. Consider extending your hospitality to UU visitors from down south. It’s fun and entertaining and, as a major JUUF fundraiser, it contributes to the financial health of our Fellowship. We also need volunteers to help coordinate housing, transportation, and meals. Please contact Pat if you can assist. Visit www.whalecoastak.org for more information on the program.
