JUUF Opportunities

"Start by doing what is necessary then what is possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible." - St. Francis of Assisi

A vibrant, meaningful Fellowship, a powerful force for good in the community,  a faith community that nurtures, challenges, and inspires its members and active friends, as well as attracts new members to its mission: This is something to belong to! A fellowship like this is sustained by the efforts of volunteers tending to each aspect of its work in the community, and the sacred work we do itself provides us with opportunities for personal growth, spiritual enrichment, and deepening connections with one another. Each team has a specific set of tasks or responsibilities and is led by a team leader. Team members take on roles within the team's overall responsibilities. You don't have to be a member of JUUF to participate. It’s a great way to support the Fellowship and use your special talents. You can also make new friends in the process!

The committees are:

Building and Grounds

This committee ensures that our responsibilities related to the building and grounds are carried out. It will work with the Social Action committee to achieve green sanctuary status if we purchase our own building. The Building and Grounds Committee is concerned with the care, aesthetics and maintenance of the buildings and grounds of the Fellowship. They also are involved with issues of accessibility for inclusion of people with disabilities and assuring the ongoing physical condition of the space to enhance the welcoming and spiritual atmosphere.
The four major functions of the committee are broken down into subcommittees: Facilities Management, Building Maintenance, Grounds Upkeep, and Housekeeping.

Membership and Community Outreach

The Membership and Community Outreach Committee promotes JUUF’s viability by attracting people who are committed to the Unitarian Universalist principles, welcomes and orients visitors, and develops programs that sustain the spiritual lives of our members. The membership and community outreach committee is composed of a main membership committee and the Social Functions, Cares and Concerns, Communication, and Technology subcommittees.
